Little Angel

One day long ago, at least 25 years before I was born, a little angel was watching the children play down below her. When she asked her Father if she could go join them, he replied,
�Of course you can, but I must warn you of the dangers. There are many children who are not very nice, and they may tease you because you are different from them.� She smiled and said, �That�s okay. I can teach them what you taught me, kindness and love.� Her Father smiled and said, �Of course you will, you are my Little Angel.� He paused for a second, and then said, �I should also warn you of the sadness and pain you will face. Not all of your time will be spent laughing and playing.
�When you leave the House I won�t be able to protect you all the time. Some days you will be sick and unable to play, and others will make you so sad you won�t want to get out of bed. Some of your friends will die and others will suffer indescribable tragedies.� Looking up at him, she replied, �That�s okay. I will put my arms around them and tell them everything will be okay, Just like you did for me so many times.� Again her Father smiled and told her �Of course you will, you are my Little Angel.�
Finally her Father told her �If I let you go, you can�t be gone long. I need you and love you so much and I will want you home soon.� That�s when the little girl smiled and said to Him, �That�s okay. By then my friends will have learned the ways of my Father and they will not need me anymore. I will be home then, before you know it.� And before her Father had a chance to respond, she said, �Because I�m your Little Angel.�
