If this happens then do the following:

From Internet Explorer, choose Tools -> Internet Options -> then click on the Security tab. Click the Custom Level button, and then scroll down to "Don't prompt for client certificate selection when no certificate or only one certificate exists" and choose Enable. Click Apply, then OK and close all windows.
